trébol soft coated wheaten and border terriers
welcome to the pages of kennel trébol

The Soft Coated Wheaten Terrier is a medium-sized, hardy, well balanced sporting terrier, square in outline. He is distinguished by his soft, silky, waving coat of warm wheaten color and his particularly steady disposition.

Dedicated to the welfare of the Soft Coated Wheaten Terrier, we are members of the Soft Coated Wheaten Terrier Club of America and the Soft Coated Wheaten Terrier Genetic Research Foundation.  We have been involved with the breed for over 20 years.  Our enthusiasm for this happy go lucky breed has developed from an interest in learning the nuances of the AKC standard and ring presentation into a modest breeding program highly focused in its view with repeated success in conformation and in performance events.  Our process as breeders follows the traditional path of pedigree research, hands on evaluation, and shrewd selection to reinforce our goals.

Founded firmly in the US bloodlines of Lontree and Brenmoor, our journey as breeders has led us to see the quality of the Soft Coated Wheaten Terrier as a global entity and as such we began to incorporate dogs from outside the US.  This exploration of the SCWT abroad revealed a love for the ‘coat of origin’ and a desire to incorporate it as a signature for our dogs along with the good health, temperament, and conformation we expect.  We support Genetic Research for the elimination of life threatening disease in SCWTs and creating and maintaining the SCWTGRF Pedigree Database to inform breeders and help generate money for research.

Our future in the Breed is buoyed by our relationships with dedicated breeders around the world who share our view for the Soft Coated Wheaten Terrier.  We hope you enjoy these pages that begin to celebrate those special dogs that we have been touched by and privileged to know.
